Post-holiday withdrawal symptoms. That I'm-in-school-yet-ought-to-be-somewhere else kinda feeling. Decided a blog entry might be the best remedy.
Letters to Iwo Jima wasn't too bad. It's rare enough that a Hollywood production actually chooses to focus on the Japanese perspective of World War 2 and it was most refreshing that the director chose to portray both sides as victims of a common suffering. Pastamania and movie cheered me up quite some and I hope it did for Ruth as well. =]

Anyway my last few days have been memorable, to say the least. I assumed the role of the Cambodian Ambassador and ECOSOC Delegate at the 3rd SIMUN Conference at Lycee Francais and I've to say it's a great advertisement for a career in the diplomatic corps. Delegate camaraderie, thought-provoking debate and radical decisions haha. Like the declaration of Palestine as a nation state and then withdrawn at the behest of the angry US delegation who staged a walkout together with her allies. And the Russian declaration of war on Israel haha. Amidst all the fun though, sensibility did somewhat prevail over chaos and insanity and we managed to pass quite a few resolutions in the ECOSOC and General Assembly. And some success with resos as well, Ahnaf and I clinched the best resolution award in our respective councils. But awards aside, I have to say that some good friendships were forged, especially in ECOSOC and thanks Turkey for coming out with that resolution to keep in contact.
G12 Conference was sadly on the same 3 days but i battled fatigue to attend all 3 evening services! And I'm sure glad I did. It was a time of fresh anointing and impetus in Him. Pastor Cesar's faith is indeed a benchmark for all us Christians. We must guard our hearts agt resentment and in particular, these words resonated in me:
"Whatever I believe, is what God will give to me." It sums up the mustard seed faith that we should have as His children and that we can do great things if only we pray and act according to His Word.
Okay off to class.
