It's 4 days from POP and it suddenly struck me that I haven't blogged in a long while.
Army life has made me more acutely aware of the things I miss out in civilian life. The freedom to sleep in and get up at humane times (ie. 9am and beyond), time to chillout whenever I feel like it and yes, even time to blog.
Looking back, I guess having good bunkmates really help. The first day seemed so long ago, when everyone didn't know anyone and I was struggling to remember names. The times of thrice-daily Stand By Areas and countless tekan sessions outfield and in camp, the sianness of being enlisted for sai kang perpetually, our regular post-bookout comfort meals, our equally regular night picnics and post lights-out talk cock sessions and finally the BBQ and stayover at Kee Yang's place yesterday. They made being Section IC for the past nine weeks a breeze though of course there were moments when we simply wanted to strangle each other in frustration. Will honestly miss all the fun and camaraderie we had when we get posted out.
Oh and my bunkmate Alwyn is actually born on the same day, place and almost the same time as me. So much for coincidences.
Alright enough of army recollections.
For starters, I cannot say how glad I was when Man U won the EPL and Champions League. My platoon mates (even the Liverpool and Chelsea fans) and I were chanting Glory Glory Man United all day after water parades and cheers. Cause my instructor is a huge Man U fan. Heh.
Had a quirky ride on the Flyer with Tam today and the view was great. And then post-Flyer ice-cream binging at the Esplanade! Plans to set up a business with another friend are also proceeding relatively smoothly so hopefully we get something going soon enough, slackers as we are.
Also met up a few times with the VJcellers and also the Stanchart people to catch Ironman sometime back. Life would be ideal if not for the fact that I'll have to book in tmr night, albeit for the last time before block leave.
As for unis, I chose NUS eventually but I'm still unsure if I made the right choice. Well, there's always
a year and seven months left to think about things.
Army really changes your perception of time.
